1) Know what companies are looking for in a mystery shopper. We’ve listed a number of them here. They want people with great English skills, who are good observers with an eye to detail. Show them that you’ve got what it takes and make sure your application contains no typos, spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.
2) Ask around! Research the companies that you’re thinking of applying with online. Check out the mystery shopping forum on volition. There are lots of forums for mystery shoppers. Join one and see what other people have to say. Is the business a good employer? Do they give out lots of assignments? Will they pay you on time?
3) Apply for many different companies. As a mystery shopper you are an independent contractor and not an employee of any particular business so you can register with as many places as you like. Registering with lots of providers increases your chances of getting work, and increases the amount of money you can earn!
4) Are you planning a trip over the summer break but would still like to get into secret shopping? Find companies that work in the area you will be going and register with them. Don’t forget, you can choose when you work, so you’ll still get your holiday.
5) Don’t be lazy and only apply to companies with easy online application forms. Teen girl secret shoppers who want to get more work, with more money and free stuff, should also register with the companies who ask for a resume and an interview. Often companies who have the hardest registrations give the most rewarding jobs.
6) Think about what jobs you are willing to take. Would you accept less well paying assignments in order to build up a reputation? 8) Be patient. Don’t give up if at first it takes a while for the assignment offers to come in. There are lots of people who want to be mystery shoppers, and companies often give work to current shoppers they already know they can trust to do a job well. Don’t worry, keep trying and you will certainly get there!
